Software Freedom Day 2010

CS3 (Computer Science Student Society) of Visayas State University celebrated Software Freedom Day today, one-day advance of the international celebration due to the availability of the organizers, participants and the venue (IT Building, VSU).

About 60 pre-registered and walk-in participants joined us in our celebration, all are students and mostly from computer science department.

We started accepting pre-registration last September 6, 2010. About 26 participants confirmed.

Software Freedom Day 2010 celebration @ VSU just finished

Local Software Freedom Day 2010 in Visayas State University just finished. I will post the documentation as soon as I am not busy in work and in my studies, hopefully not later than Tuesday.

In behalf of the organizers, we would like to thank all the participants for being open-minded and responding to this call, the international and annual celebration of Free and Open Source Software -- the Software Freedom Day.

We would also like to thank our very own department, the Department of Computer Science and Technology for the venue and some resources.
